Pregnancy Termination Q & A

Q.Why do women choose to terminate a pregnancy ?

An unplanned pregnancy comes with three options: You can choose to begin or add to your family, give the baby up for adoption, or terminate your pregnancy.

In virtually all cases, the choice to have an abortion is complicated. The experienced team at Advantage Health Care helps you understand all your options so you can make an informed decision, keeping your own health and well-being front and center.

Some women may choose to terminate a pregnancy if they:

Aren’t ready to be a parent or don’t want to become a parent
Are in a relationship with someone they don’t want to have a family with
Want to finish school or pursue other goals before starting a family
Want to focus their energy and resources on the children they have
Are in an abusive relationship, or their pregnancy is a result of sexual assault
Shouldn’t carry a pregnancy to term for health reasons

Although each woman has her own unique and valid reasons for ending a pregnancy, it’s important to remember that your decision is personal, and it’s yours alone.

Q.What abortion options are available ?

Q.How soon do I have to decide ?

First and foremost, it’s important that you take the time you need to make an informed decision that’s ultimately right for you.

Before you make a final decision about whether to have an abortion, you’ll want to carefully consider your personal beliefs, relationships, family life, long-term goals, and overall health. As you think about these things and weigh your options, it’s a good idea to make an appointment with a women’s health physician at Advantage Health Care so you can get the medical care you need in the interim.

If you do choose to end your pregnancy, you should do so as early as you can; it isn’t possible to have an abortion past 16 weeks, or 16 weeks and three days of pregnancy, as determined by an ultrasound.

Whatever your choice, the team at Advantage Health Care is always available to provide expert medical care and support.
